THE VILLAGE COMPETITION
The Village competition is a team competition organised for all club members, all standards. Teams are organised to reflect an equitable mix of standards in order to ensure an open and fair competition. The competition has been running in the club for many years and is very popular with the club members. It allows all members, including those who would not normally get involved in team squash, to experience the fun and camaraderie of a team environment. The title of “Village” is derived from the fact that teams are given titles of local “villages” to try and reflect where team members may live; this adds to the competitive atmosphere of the competition. The Village is played with a high level of enthusiasm, competition and, above all, FUN.
